REDHEAD firefighter David Tchappat's time on Big Brother has been cut short after a surprise double eviction on Sunday.
The 33-year-old exited the house with Adelaide's Nathan Strempel after they found themselves up for eviction following votes from fellow housemates and the public."It's different," Tchappat said of his Big Brother experience."I would have liked to have stayed but I've had a good month in there and I'm out."Tchappat faced criticism in the early stages of the show after housemates accused the ex-policeman of not being himself in the house. It took three weeks for him to decide to share the story of his unusual upbringing.Tchappat grew up as a member of the Exclusive Brethren until he left his family behind and escaped at the age of 19, at that point having never kissed a girl or even watched television."It's not something I go around promoting . . . I tell people when I am close to them."One of the housemates that expressed doubts over Tchappat's "nice guy" personality was first evictee Saxon Pepper.Tchappat said he had no bad feelings toward ex-housemates who questioned his sincerity, adding that everyone who knew him knews he was "being himself"."Life's too short to hold grudges and I get along with everyone."In the wake of Big Brother fans stepping up criticism of Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O as hosts, Tchappat said that even the housemates were not impressed."The housemate general feeling is that they didn't really warm to the housemates much."But they're probably still getting into it."
